Faye Cahill for cake

Ah yes, cake has been sorted too. And no, the above image is not the cake you will see at the wedding reception. In fact, it’s FAR from it and it shall remain a secret till the big day.

Ok, a little about how I found Faye Cahill. You see, I have always wanted to find someone apart from Planet or Sweet Arts to create the wedding cake because while I know they do a fabulous job, I wanted a more personal touch and someone who has an eye for design. Faye Cahill came up as an option while I was researching cake designers on the Vogue Forum. She has been described as a really easy person to deal with and someone who has lots of creative ideas - and it’s no wonder, she’s a former COFA student who discovered ‘cake’ as the medium to showcase her work.

Upon showing her what we have in mind for the wedding cake, her no-nonsense and confident YES SHE CAN won me over. I can’t wait to see the final product!

Pronovias wedding gown

I found my wedding gown!!!!!! It’s a soft, beautiful gown by Spanish design house, Pronovias.

I found Pronovias by chance and the very moment I clicked on ‘the’ gown, I fell in love. After which I called every single Pronovias stockist in Australia in hope I would be able to see one in person and fortunately I tracked down a stockist in Sydney who had the exact gown I wanted. .. … so I went, saw and bought (woohoo!!) I never thought buying ‘the gown of my life’ would be so simple!

And no, it’s not the gown above ;p
However, this is the Pronovias website and you are very welcome to guess which one I bought!

** My gown is arriving on 18 May** WOOHOO!!

Save the date

 Save the date

We have set a date for our wedding celebration. Please save Friday 2 October 2009 in your diaries for our Sydney ceremony and reception.

For those who cannot make our Sydney celebrations, we will be holding a wedding reception in Taipei in mid November. We’ve yet to confirm a date but are likely to in the next couple of weeks. To ensure we book a function hall enough to fit all, we would appreciate your help in expressing your interest in attending the Taipei function via email. We also welcome those in Sydney who wish to celebrate our nuptials (again) to join us in Taipei. We will be great hosts and are more than happy to show you around our beautiful home city.

Photography booked!

Thanks to Sera and Eve, we were introduced to Trish of tealily photography.

We were already sold after visiting her online gallery, which is full of spontaneous happiness, touching moments and quirky snapshots. And after meeting her, we were convinced that Trish would not only take beautiful shots of us and our family and friends, but most importantly, capture ‘real’ images of the wedding celebrations.

Trish is sweet, bubbly and enthusiastic and we love that! Plus, after we talked her through our requests, she was 110% willing to experiment with us - woohoo! Double plus, she wore the same brand wedding gown as I will be. Woohoohaaa..

Now, we need a videographer. Any suggestions?

POST UPDATE: Just wanted to share that Trish has been accepted as an accredited member of the Australian Institute of Professional Photography. Yippee!! Congratulations Trish :)
