Blings

Diamonds and pearls, most girls’ best friends, have become my current nightmare! Ok, maybe a slight exaggeration referring to them as nightmares but accessories have surely become a headache I can do without.

I saw these when I was waiting for my bus a few months ago. I’ve eyed them in the window since then wondering how much they cost (not the necklace, just the earrings) and a few weeks ago, I went in and asked. I ended up liking a pair with much shorter strings of diamonds but the price was too astounding for words. So I moved on.

Then I decided that it may be best that I get a pair of diamond studs to suit a pair of hook-on pearls my lovely matron of honour, Lucy, has said she would lend me. Lucy’s pearls are HUGE so to suit them, I need to get a pair of sizeable studs to match and after a lot of hardwork and bargaining by Joyce and Sera in HK (THANK YOU GIRLS), I still couldn’t quite justify the price (though I’m still in the ‘thinking’ phase)…. time is running out tho…. arrrrrrgh…

OR… what do you think of the following pair of Tiffany earrings? Please ignore the size as shown because they are not half that big; the pearls are roughly 6.5-7mm and the diamonds approx 0.1ct (total). You see, my original idea was to wear only earrings with no  necklace but if I pursue this option, I will buy the matching necklace, which is equally petite and equally yummy.

What should I do?
Suggestions welcome! ^^

I made it..

.. to the gym that is. After a three-week delay to my original plan, I went to my first Body Pump class at lunch time today. And I’ve gotta say, I may as well be dead. I realised that I’ve no tricep, bicep, shoulder, back, chest and leg muscles (and definitely no abs) - frankly, none from head to toe.

Anyhow, after at least two years’ absence (I’ve lost count), I realised that despite my muscles having gone on strike, I actually remember the BP class quite well. I remember the techniques, the steps and even the music didn’t change all that much. I must say though, I had forgotten all about the pain and the sweat.

Not wanting to sound like a masochist, but I really enjoyed working out and sweating. My mind was empty during the 45min session as I concentrated on not tripping over and looking like a fool. But it was a good mindless period, I think it’s probably quite healthy for the mind to rest while the body works for once.

Anyhow, how I sidetrack. I’ve got less than 2.5 months to get these arms of mine into shape, I’d better follow this session up with many, many more. Wish me luck.

Almost there…

Golly, I just realised I’ve not updated the blog for three weeks! First, let’s start the post with a greeting to those family and friends whom I’ve not had the pleasure to chat to recently. Howdy!

I can’t really update you on much though. Let’s see… we are currently battling to get the invitations printed, having two versions have their complications but we hope to get them out to you soon!

Otherwise, we have finalised our church program, doing it was not easy. We needed to come up with the Processional, Recessional, Signing of the Register music, the readings and secure the readers… I for one, am glad that is out of the way.

What else? Mmm, we’ve got a whole bunch of info from our DJ supplier. Maybe it’s just me, but I didn’t realise we need to organise songs for the entrance of the bridal party, the song for bouquet throwing, song for the first dance, song for cake cutting, songs for dinner, songs for this, songs for that… fortunately, their lists are very comprehensive and split into recommendations for specific events, eg the garter or bouquet throwing as well as another that is split by era, eg if you prefer music from the 50’s and 60’s, there is a list full of artists and songs that may suit etc. I didn’t realise it was so involved!! That pack has been left on the side as we could not face doing it right now, seems so daunting!

Oh… my dresses are all being taken up now so things are tracking well on that front. I’m still at two minds about accessories, sighs!

And now, I’m off to book our tickets back to Taipei.

Almost there.. almost…

Music & Dance

Wednesday, July 1st, 2009

I wrote quite a number of emails late last week to seek quotes for a dj, dance classes as well as AV (audio visual Ray!) needs. All came back quite reasonable except AV.. at the rate they’ve quoted, I think we may as well go out and get a projector and a projector screen ourselves (which we may just do!)

What we’ve said yes to already is the dj provider. Cheryl of Impression DJs was highly recommended by the events manager at the Watermark and they are accoladed with lots of positive testimonials and praises so all sounds good to us. We have a vague idea the types of music we want, and after doing a quick check of their music databse, I think we will be fine.

The other thing we’re close on is our dance instructor. We’re still trying to decide if we should have three or five lessons. Five is the recommended number of lessons for couples who’ve not danced before but we aren’t sure if we can dedicate five Saturdays to this. Also, we need to also decide on the ’song’ we’re to dance to! While we are likely to do dance classes, please do not expect ‘So you think you can dance’ style waltz or what not, because that simply isn’t going to happen. I just hope we don’t trip and fall.

Hope you are having a good day!
